November 28th- December 1st

We made it to December. That's crazy! We were so happy with the Parent Teacher Conferences and appreciate you taking time out of the busy holiday season to meet with us. We also enjoyed a little time off with family. This is tough push to Christmas, but our intensity for learning must continue.

Class Happenings:

Reading – We have begun a new read aloud.  We are currently reading “The Sign of the Beaver.”  It is a great story about early settlers and their interaction with Indians in the early United States territories.
We are also continuing our unit on nonfiction reading.  We have been doing research on natural disasters.

Writing – We continue to work on our box and bullets.  This coming week we will be working on our drafting.

Social studies – Our study of colonial America continues.

Math- It's all about Multiplication. I cannot stress enough how much more confident your child will feel if they have their multiplication facts mastered. If you are having trouble with Math, refer to the Math Website

Science- We are wrapping up our Water unit with Weather. We discussed the components of weather and climate. Next week we will be looking at Clouds and Instruments.

Up and Coming:

Neon and Sparkle Day- Wed. December 6th
Pride Assembly- Thurs. December 7th
Chorus Concert- December 11th

PTO Fundraisers at 5 Below- Dec. 2nd through Dec. 10th.
