The End of November

First of all, on behalf of Mrs. Bream and myself, we are so thankful for the conversations we were able to have with some of you last evening and look forward to the conversations we will have next week. We are blessed to have your support as we work together to make your son or daughter the best they can be. It's nice to take a moment to reflect on each student's progress so far this school year.

Secondly, enjoy the break!! Take time with your family, read with them, do flash cards, go for a walk, play football or a video game together. You have no idea how much they cherish the time you spend with them. They boast about the QUALITY time they get to spend with their parents. Have a wonderful break.

In Class:

Science: We are wrapping up our Watershed unit. The students were able to apply their knowledge of lentic and lotic systems and Environmental problems and solutions to an engineering project. We will start up with Weather after the break.

Math: We concluded unit 3 (Fractions and Decimals) and I think we are all a little smarter and a little more patient. 😊 Unit 4 will begin after the break and that will involve multiplication, convert the metric system, and area.

Reading: We have finished our read aloud, “The Sister’s Grimm:  The Fairytale Detectives.”  The students were excellent listeners and really enjoyed the book.  Please ask them about the many Fairy Tale characters we read about.

When we return from vacation our reading lessons will focus on a non-fiction reading unit on weather and storms.

Writing: We will continue after vacation using a box and bullet and extending that into a draft of our next writing.

Social Studies: Upon our return our Social Studies will focus on the regions of the colonies.  A group presentation will be our goal before Christmas.

Up and Coming:

No School until Tuesday November 29th
