October 30th-November 3rd

Let's take a moment and congratulate ourselves for surviving another year with a midweek Halloween holiday!! It may have been sloppy, but we made it 😏

Math- We continue to work on fractions. We've looked at creating them, finding their equivalents, using them in number stories, and converting them to decimals. Next week...tenths and hundredths and comparing decimals.

Science- We continued to talk about the water on earth this week. Today we were able to see water move underground with a model borrowed from the Red Lion Municipality Building. It was neat to see how water travels and scary to see how quickly water can become contaminated.  Watersheds will be our topic next week.

Reading – We are focusing on text features. So far we have studied Compare and Contrast.  Next week we will look at problem / solution, and cause and effect.

Writing – We have done some free writing this week.  The students love it.  Next week we will continue learning about opinion writing.

Social Studies – WE LOVE COLONIZATION!  This week we learned about the Georgia Colony.  We also created our own colonies.  It was a BLAST!
