October 23rd-27th

It finally feels like fall!! We are able to go outside a great deal and sometimes it looks warmer than it is. Please remind your child to wear a light jacket or sweatshirt to school just in case.

Reading – We have begun our unit on nonfiction reading.  We will continue next week learning about different text structures.

Writing – We have also started our writing unit.  We are learning how to organize a persuasive or opinion writing.

Social Studies – We have learned about the Plymouth, Jamestown, and Georgia colonies.  We will begin looking at the New England colonies next week.

Math- Fractions, Fractions, Fractions. The students have been working hard this week to figure out how to make equivalent fractions. Next week...Fractions, Fractions, Fractions!!! (Moaning and groaning ensue)

Science- We are really starting to dig deep into Earth's Water. The students have been so engaged in the lessons and seem to be "soaking" it all in. Today, they became water droplets and went on their own journey through the water cycle. PLEASE talk to your child about their water journey.

Up and Coming:
