First, I want to apologize for not getting a blog post for two weeks. We've been crazy busy, but that can be a good thing too. I heard great things about parent visitation day and I am sad that I missed you all. You are welcome in my classroom anytime. It was fun to see some of you at the cross country meet, although I was so busy cheering across the field, that I did not get to talk to any of you.
The days are still beautiful, but they are getting shorter. I always love suggesting, this time of year, to get your child outside for a few hours after school. They can always do homework when the sun sets. 😊

Reading: We are working on open-ended responses.

Writing: Our first Writing assessment will happen on Monday. The students have worked hard developing their skills and this will be an opportunity for them to showcase them.

Math: Today we completed Unit 2. The students were working on a variety of skills such as finding area, multiples and factors, angles, and multiplication. We will begin unit 3 on Monday. Look for a brand new homework packet (this should stay in their take-home binder all the time)

Science: We also finished our Earth, Sun, and Moon unit. We began talking about Earth's water this week and will continue to do so for a long time. This unit will challenge your child to think about the decisions we make and how it impacts our earth. I hope that this will open up great conversations at home. Becoming stewards of the environment should be a top priority.

Up and Coming:

Red Ribbon Week is next week.
To celebrate a drugsmart attitude, students are encouraged to participate through their attire.

2-hour delay. Students will need to be at school @11:00
