Mid April

It has been so nice to go outside and just breathe fresh air and take in the warm sunshine. This weather just makes everyone seem like they are in a better mood. Although now, the kids start to get that summer itch. We still have 7 weeks left of school and learning will still be happening.

Bream's Side:

ELA PSSA’S are OVER!!!!!!  I know we did our best.

Even though PSSA’s continue….we are moving onto bigger and better things in ELA.
Reading….We are going to be starting some lessons on asking questions while we read.
Writing….We will begin working on book summaries.
Social studies….We have begun studying the 50 states.  We will be breaking them down into regions.  Our first region is the Northeast.

Lankford's Side:

Our PSSA's will take place over the next two weeks. We have Math Tuesday and Wednesday this week and Science next Tuesday and Wednesday. The students have been working hard and they are ready to show what they have learned this year. It's hard to see all their growth in a standardized test, so I encourage you to strike up some conversations with your child.

Our Science Unit has been all about the Environment and how humans impact the earth. They are getting a feel for overconsumption and are starting to find solutions for it.

In Math, we will be wrapping up our Hands on Equations (Algebra) Unit on Monday. They have done very well with this and can solve most problems without trouble.

Up and Coming

PSSA's - April 17th-18th, 24th-25th
Track Meet- April 30th (Rain Date- May 1st)
